World Conferences on Social Work and Social Development – SWSD
Every two years, ICSW organizes a world conference to follow up and analyze progress made in social welfare and social development.
In 2012 the conference was held jointly with our sister organizations IASSW and IFSW in Stockholm.
ICSW was founded 1928 in Paris at the first world conference and today has member organizations and national committees in more than 70 countries. ICSW’s basic task is to promote social and economic development to reduce poverty and social exclusion. To meet the objectives ICSW primarily works with collecting and disseminating information, organizing seminars and conferences, developing policy proposals and influencing policy makers.
